Toggle clamps, power clamps from KIPP
The "Toggle clamps, power clamps" product group from KIPP includes various versions of clamps and their accessories. Toggle clamps and power clamps are not the same thing and should not be confused with each other.
Toggle clamps and power clamps from KIPP
Toggle clamps are used to hold and clamp workpieces. They are intended for use by assembly and workholding technology, as well as tool and fixture construction. Toggle clamps serve not only as assembly fixtures, but also as retaining devices.
The advantages of power clamps are manifold - to start with, the clamps have a very high clamping force of 22 kN to 49 kN. The clamps and their elements are easy to install and have a low overall height. As by mounting, clamping is very quick and uncomplicated. Power clamps are infinitely adjustable in height and length.
Types of toggle clamps and power clamps
The KIPP range includes different types of toggle clamps made from steel and stainless steel. The range includes the following types of toggle clamps:
Horizontal and vertical toggle clamps (H4)
Horizontal and vertical toggle clamps can be distinguished by the initial position of the operating lever. The starting position of the operating lever is horizontal for horizontal toggle clamps and vertical for vertical toggle clamps.
The grip element of both types is made of plastic. The grip is comfortable to use and oil-resistant.
The clamping height of KIPP toggle clamps can be adjusted via the thrust screw. The thrust screw enables infinitely variable adjustment within a range of 35 mm with an almost constant clamping force. The thrust force can be adjusted up to 2,500 N to meet requirements using a set screw located under the lever in the joint.
Push-pull toggle clamps
Characterised by their compact design. The force exerted by push-pull toggle clamps is linear. In addition to high retaining forces, the simple and easy-to-understand handling is another advantage of push-pull toggle clamps.
Pneumatic clamps
Are not operated manually. Pneumatic clamps are operated by compressed air. This means that pneumatic clamps can be integrated into automated processes and systems. Any conventional compressed air system can be used for operation. Automation also means that the end positions can be easily monitored.
Toggle presses
The KIPP range includes manual and pneumatic toggle presses. Both types are designed so that the clamp itself can be detached from the stand and replaced if necessary. The thrust spindle can also be manually adjusted to suit the situation. The toggle presses are available as manual or pneumatic versions.
Expansions to the standard versions
KIPP has further developed its range of toggle clamps to add to the standard types listed above.
The result is toggle clamps with:
KIPP lock
is characterised by its ergonomic and user-friendly grip shape. The toggle clamps with KIPP lock are very durable. The special surface finish makes the products resistant to corrosion and the U-profile conical clamping arm makes them particularly robust.
KIPP lock+
enhances the advantages of KIPP lock with an additional safety interlock. The lever can only be operated after the lock has been released.
KIPP also offers toggle clamps with an integrated force sensor. The products enable precise adjustment and monitoring of the clamping force. The force sensor enables the defined and recordable clamping of workpieces. As a result, production is documented even more completely in order to identify optimisation opportunities or quality problems.
